The Taliban has cut the salaries of senior government officials in Afghanistan. TOLOnews on Sunday released a list of salaries for the country’s top Taliban leaders, heads of government and ministers, citing the country’s finance ministry.

According to the report, Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate, tops the list in terms of salary structure. His salary is 2 lakh 26 thousand 750 Afghanis.

In addition, the salary of the Prime Minister of the country is 1 lakh 98 thousand 250 Afghanis, the salary of the ministers is 1 lakh 250 thousand Afghanis, the salary of the provincial governors is 91,500 Afghanis, the salary of the first class officials is 25,200 to 30,500 Afghanis and the salary of the second class officials is 16,800 Afghanis. Two thousand six hundred Afghanis.

Ahmed Wali Hakmal, a spokesman for the finance ministry, said there was inequality in the previous government’s pay structure in Afghanistan. “The pay structure of the ousted government was inconsistent,” he said. Employees of different departments get different salaries. This requires a change in the salary structure.

The pay cuts for senior government officials were announced last Saturday. However, Enamullah Samangani, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, said that the salaries of education officials have been increased.
